With reference to the standard of colloquium lectures in other countries, and with the approval and support from Nankai University and related departments, the Colloquium of CIM was established in the March of 2017 by Chern Institute of Mathematics in honor of the significant contributions made by the renowned mathematician Professor Shiing-Shen Chern. It offers a great platform for visit and communication among renowned scientists worldwide (especially mathematicians), and promotes the development of mathematics.

Speakers of Colloquium should be famous mathematicians from China or overseas, including Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Distinguished Young Scholars of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
