On October 16, the CIM History Gallery was officially opened just before the 100th Anniversary of Nankai University. Academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Professors of Chern Institute of Mathematics (CIM) Mo-Lin Ge, Yiming Long, Weiping Zhang and William Y.C. Chen unveiled the plaque together for the gallery. Former Director of CIM Xingwei Zhou attended the opening ceremony.
Preparations for the construction of CIM History Gallery has been made since 2018. Collections in the gallery are divided into six major parts, which, through large number of words and pictures, comprehensively demonstrate CIM's historical development and achievements obtained since its foundation.
CIM History Gallery was established to record and preserve the cultural and spiritual property of the institute. Its large collection of historical records narrates the remarkable accomplishments and spiritual asset the institute has achieved over more than 30 years of development. The establishment of the Gallery provides a place for the gathering and preservation of CIM's precious historical information, benefits the development of Nankai University's historical data resources and it's also conductive for the society to learn more about the mathematics discipline of Nankai University as well as the researching and educational history of CIM.
