23 achievements win Tianjin Science and Technology Awards. NKU takes home the special prize in natural sciences for the second year running

News Summary:

Winners of the 2021 Tianjin Science and Technology Awards were announced recently. The project "Research on Quantum Nonlocality" led by Professor Jing-Ling Chen of Chern Institute of Mathematics (CIM) won the first prize in natural sciences. Dong-Ling Deng and Zhen-Peng Xu who participated in the completion of the project were also Professor Chen's students at CIM.

Jing-Ling Chen is professor at the Theoretical Physics Division of Chern Institute of Mathematics, Nankai University. His research interests include quantum physics and quantum information. He was awarded the Singapore Millennium Foundation (SMF) Postdoctoral Scholarship in 2003, selected into the "New Century Excellent Talent Program" of Ministry of Education of China in 2006 and the "100 Young Discipline Leaders Training Program" of Nankai University in 2013, and awarded the Paul Ehrenfest Best Paper Award for Quantum Foundations by Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information Vienna of Austrian Academy of Sciences in 2021 (the paper was completed by: Zhen-Peng Xu, Jing-Ling Chen and Otfried Guhne).
