Prof. Youquan Li joins Nankai University

In mid-June 2022, Professor Youquan Li officially joined Chern Institute of Mathematics, Nankai University.

Professor Youquan Li was born in 1963. He received his bachelor's degree (1983), master's degree (1986) and Ph.D. (1989) in physics from Lanzhou University, and then pursued his postdoctoral research at Zhejiang University from December 1990 to December 1992.

Professor Youquan Li has long been engaged in research on theoretical condensed matter physics. He has published more than 160 SCI papers as the first author or corresponding author; been granted over 14 science foundations including 8 NSFC General Program projects, one NSFC for Distinguished Young Scholars and National Key Research and Development Project. He won National Natural Science Award (2nd rank) and Natural Science Award (1st rank) of Universities in China. He was selected as the Distinguished Professor of the "Leading Talent Program" of the Ministry of Education of China in 2001, the national candidate for the "New Century Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talents Program" in 2006 and the Leading Expert of the National "Ten Thousand Talents Program" in 2014.

Professor Youquan Li was awarded the National Labor Medal and the Achievement Medal for Returned Overseas Chinese Scholars in 2003, and the 8th Science and Technology Award for Chinese Youth in 2004. He used to be an Editorial Member of several journals including Chinese Science Bulletin, Frontiers of Physics in China and Progress in Physics, and currently is an Organizing Committee Member of the CPS Fall Meeting and the National Conference on Magnetism Theories.
