On April 14-17, 2023, the Workshop on Tensor Optimization and Data Science was held in Shiing-Shen Building. Directors of the Academic Committee were Prof. Liqun Qi from Hangzhou Dianzi University and Prof. Yuhong Dai from the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The Organizing Committee was composed of Prof. Qingzhi Yang from Nankai University, Prof. Yimin Wei from Fudan University, Prof. Wen Li from South China Normal University and Prof. Zhenghai Huang from Tianjin University. With more than 80 attendees from all over the country, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Harbin and Tianjin, a total of 32 lectures were delivered during the workshop on the recent advances and development prospects of the following fields such as matrix analysis and matrix optimization, tensor analysis and tensor optimization, optimization methods, and data science.

The workshop contributed to the development of theories and algorithms of tensor optimization and data science, as well as their applications, provided a great opportunity for young teachers and scholars working on these fields, and is conducive to these fields' future development in China.
