2023-11-27 15:03

On November 22, Xiaoyun Wang, professor of the " C. N. Yang Professor" at the Institute for Advanced Study of Tsinghua University, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences,  fellow of the World Academy of Sciences, fellow of the International Association for Cryptologic Research, chairman of the Chinese Cryptozoological Society, and vice president of the Chinese Mathematical Society, was invited to deliver a Chern Lecture on "Research on High-dimensional Lattice Theory and Lattice Cryptozoology" for NKU teachers and students. Secretary of the CPC Nankai University Committee Qingshan Yang met with Professor Xiaoyun Wang. The two sides exchanged views on scientific research, interdisciplinary construction of mathematics and cryptography.

In the report, Prof. Xiaoyun Wang started from the importance of lattice password. With the vigorous development of the digital economy, big data, cloud computing, blockchain and other information technologies are deeply integrated with various industries of the real economy, but the cost of malicious information acquisition, tampering, falsification and abuse is extremely low, and cryptographic technology is crucial.

Then, Prof. Xiaoyun Wang introduced the mathematics of lattice cryptography. And the practical situation of lattice cipher.

After the lecture, Prof. Xiaoyun Wang had discussions with the teachers and students and answered their questions. This lecture also gave the teachers and students a more comprehensive understanding of cryptography.
