On September 17-20, 2024, the International Workshop on Commutative Algebra and Related Topics was held in Shiing-Shen Building. Organized by Prof. Zhongming Tang from Soochow University, Prof. Ngo Viet Trung from the Institute of Mathematics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Prof. Siamak Yassemi from Purdue University and Prof. Cheng Gong from Soochow University, the Workshop mainly focused on commutative algebra and related hot topics, and attracted over 50 scholars from India, Vietnam, Germany, the US, Italy, Japan, France, Norway, Korea etc.

A total of 27 lectures were delivered during the Workshop on commutative algebra and related topics including algebraic geometry and combinatory algebra. Invited speakers included internationally renowned scholars such as Prof. Bernd Ulrich from Purdue University, Prof. Dale Cutkosky from the University of Missouri and Prof. Claudia Polini from the University of Notre Dame. Prof. Guangjun Zhu and Prof. Dancheng Lu from Soochow University, Dr. Yi-Huang Shen from the University of Science and Technology of China and Dr. Cheng Meng from Tsinghua University also gave lectures on their latest research results.

The Workshop provided a great platform for experts and scholars in the field of commutative algebra to share their work results and to further cooperate with each other; as well as offered a learning opportunity for young researchers. It is conducive to the future development of this research field in China.
