The International Conference on Advanced Topics in Dynamical Systems held at Nankai University
2025-11-04 08:55

The International Conference on Advanced Topics in Dynamical Systems was recently held at the Chern Institute of Mathematics, Nankai University. The conference was primarily organized by Nankai University, and co-chaired by Professor Yiming Long, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences at the Chern Institute of Mathematics, and Professor Patrice Le Calvez from Sorbonne Université in France. It brought together experts and scholars from more than 10 countries and was attended by over 110 faculty and students. As an important part of the International Conference Series on Surface Dynamics, this event marked the first time the series has been held in Asia. It was also one of the events celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Chern Institute of Mathematics.

The conference featured a total of 41 academic talks, including two Young Scholar Sessions. It gathered a distinguished group of invited speakers from around the world, including Professor Zhihong Xia (Great Bay University and Northwestern University); Professors Jinxin Xue and Honghao Gao (Tsinghua University); Professors Zhengyi Zhou and Lei Chen (Chinese Academy of Sciences); Professor Pedro Salomao (Southern University of Science and Technology); Professor Sylvain Crovisier of the European Academy of Sciences (Université Paris-Saclay); Professors Frédéric Le Roux and Vincent Humilière (Sorbonne Université); Professor Egor Shelukhin (University of Montreal); Professor Rohil Prasad (Princeton University); Professor Umberto Hryniewicz (RWTH-Aachen University); Professor Alejandro Kocsard (IMPA, Brazil); Professor Fabio Tal (Universidade de São Paulo); Professor Alejandro Passeggi (Universidad de la República) and Professor Jungsoo Kang (Seoul National University). The talks mainly focused on topics such as Hamiltonian dynamics, symplectic/contact geometry and surface dynamics, showcasing the interdisciplinary integration and innovation across different fields.

Marking the Asian debut of the International Conference Series on Surface Dynamics, this milestone event has created opportunities for researchers in China to engage in exchange with their international counterparts, thereby enhancing China's influence in this field. The conference also included dedicated Young Scholar Sessions and a Poster Session, providing a platform to foster cooperation, exchange of ideas, as well as presentation of research outcomes among young scholars from around the world.
