On the occasion of the 106th anniversary of Nankai University and the 40th anniversary of the Chern Institute of Mathematics (CIM), the CIM 40th Anniversary Development Forum - Chern Program Session was held in Shiing-Shen Building from October 11 to October 12. Distinguished scholars worldwide who participated in the Chern Program gathered at Nankai University to honor the memory of Professor Shiing-Shen Chern, review the history of the internationalization in Chinese mathematics education, and envision the future of the discipline.

The Opening Session was attended and addressed by Qingshan Yang, Secretary of CPC Nankai University Committee, and Chengming Bai, Vice President of Nankai University and Director of the Chern Institute of Mathematics.

Twelve scholars from the Chern Program delivered keynote speeches at the Forum, sharing from various perspectives the profound and far-reaching influence that Chern Program has made to their academic careers and to the development of mathematics in China and across the world.  

From the afternoon of October 11 to October 12, academic lectures focusing on the cutting-edge topics in basic mathematics, applied mathematics, and their interdisciplinary areas, were presented at the Forum, providing a professional platform for participants to exchange ideas and insights.
