Chern Institute of Mathematics (CIM) held its Leadership Appointment and Induction Meeting at Shiing-Shen Building on April 15, 2026. The meeting was attended by Mingjun Qu, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Nankai University Committee; Yiming Long, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and professor at the CIM; Weiping Zhang, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and professor at the CIM; as well as all the faculty members of the institute. Gang Shao, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the School of Mathematical Sciences, Nankai University, presided over the meeting.

At the meeting, Lixin Liu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Nankai University Administrative Offices and Vice Director of the Organization Department of the CPC Nankai University Committee, announced the decision on the institute’s leadership appointments and removals. Professor Xiaonan Ma was appointed Director and Professor Shaoming Guo was appointed Vice Director of the CIM. Speeches were then delivered by Professor Chengming Bai, Vice President of Nankai University and former Director of the CIM; Professor Huitao Feng, former Vice Director of the CIM; Professor Xiaonan Ma; Professor Shaoming Guo; Academician Yiming Long; Academician Weiping Zhang (speaking on behalf of Academician Mo-Lin Ge and himself); Gang Shao (representing the CPC Committee of the School of Mathematical Sciences); Mingjun Qu (representing the CPC Nankai University Committee).
