On the morning of May 21, the 2021 Workshop on Dynamical Systems and Nonlinear Analysis—in Memory of the 110th Anniversary of the Birth of Shiing-Shen Chern opened at the lecture hall on the first floor of Shiing-Shen Building. Academician Yiming Long, as the host of the opening ceremony, introduced the themes of this year's workshop and the history of the ones in previous years, as well as expressing sincere appreciation to the support of attendees from around the country and the hard work of all the organizing committee members. Chengming Bai, director of the Chern Institute of Mathematics, introduced the history and development of the Institute in his opening remarks, and extended his warm welcome to all the participants.

The Workshop Organizing Committee was composed of Academician Yiming Long from Nankai University, Prof. Chungen Liu from Guangzhou University, Prof. Xijun Hu from Shandong University, Prof. Duanzhi Zhang and Prof. Huagui Duan from Nankai University.

The Workshop was held on May 21-23, 2021, focusing on cutting-edge topics including dynamical systems, index theory for Hamiltonian systems, celestial mechanics, variational methods and differential equations. A total of 20 lectures were delivered during the workshop all by famous Chinese scholars in the field of dynamical systems and nonlinear analysis. With more than 160 attendees from all over the country, the workshop was aimed at enhancing communication among scholars in the field of dynamical systems and nonlinear analysis, providing a great opportunity for young teachers and scholars to learn and share their ideas, promoting cooperation through discussions on the latest research achievements in related fields, as well as commemorating the 110th anniversary of the birth of Shiing-Shen Chern.
